Hi everyone,
I have a number of questions and hope to receive some insights and answers based on your experience.
Ever the romantic, I fell madly in love with an American musican in March 2007. We talked on the phone, chatted, emailed, visited each other until he proposed to me in July 2008 while I was on an extended visit. I am very excited to marry him as soon as possible.
Shortly before I left the US, we compiled the necessary documents (proof of our relationship - emails, photos, airline tickets, passport copies - the petition, statement of intent, etc.). My fiancé mailed them the day I left.
Unfortunately, the airline staff forgot to take my green tourist visa slip out of my passport which is normally kept in order to proof I left the country within the 90 day frame. I contacted the embassy and they told me to send it back to them and allow four months for processing before I can even ask about it.
Now the problem is obvious:
Will this problem interfere with my visa application? Our request is supposed to be approved by January 2nd and I sent in the green slip from my passport with boarding card etc. on August 26th - allowing four months... end of December... well. I am now really worried that this will cause problems. For some reason, it hadn't occured to me before.
What do you guys think?
Has anyone experienced something like this before?
I would be extremely grateful for you help.
Verena
