Filed 5 weeks ago and no receipt? Am I being impatient?

Hey guys,

I want to thank you guys for helping my wife and I get filed. We filed (through our atty) 5 weeks ago. We havent heard a word back yet and I am getting a bit nervous.

I am a canadian citizen who overstayed about a year in the USA. I married my then fiance in march.

I am not sure how long the receipt process takes, I spoke with my atty today and she said it typically takes 2 weeks although up to 4 weeks. Well that didnt make me any better.

Any help would be appreciated =)

Also just to be clear, I filed the I-130 and AOS

Is there any place I can check the status, even though I have no receipt?
