  • Don't remember anything about previous I-130

I think that my previous wife obtained her resident status thru an I-130 filing, but I am not sure. All I remember is that she abandoned her asylum application, went back to her home country, and waited for her legalization there. I divorced and re-married and now I am filing and I-130 for my new wife but on question D.2 of I-130 I am not sure what to write. I believe that Yes, we filed an I-130, but the problem is that last time we did it with a lawyer and this time I am doing it myself, and I don't know the details. What do you think can be the consequenses of making a mistake here? besides INS taking a closer look, which I don't care because both of my marriages are real, but if I don't have to have the extra scrutiny it would be better. The same problem repeats on form I-129F question 11. Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Perfect ...

... you remember exactly what you need here. Write this on a separate piece of paper and submit the information. Just in case something does come up, you can tell them that you do not have the specifics.

    Good luck.
