Petition approval extension request
Has anyone written, requesting an extension of I-129F petition approval: This if for the intial opportunity to come in the country, not the extension of the visa once in the country. I saw one example letter on the internet, but it doesn’t appear that the person gives a reason for asking for the extension. They just ask for it. They also list some information about (pursuant to 9FAM 41,81 N3.1(Period of validity). Is it best to give a reason or isn’t it necessary? My ninety year old father broke his hip, 2 days after our first step was approved, and while at the hosiptial, they determined he probably has lung cancer.
His condition seems to be worsening. Also the embassy seems to be taking quite long on sending my fiancée the packet. She also is taking medicine for inactive tb. but I’ve been advised to continue concerning that aspect of the situation. It would be nice to know we have additional time if needed with all that's going on though.
We’re dealing with the embassy in Manila; what’s the best way to go about this? Is there an additional charge for an extension? Thanks in advance for any help.
