  • Fiance visa

I have a friend who is engaged to a man that lives in Athens Greece as a refugee. My question is can she apply for a fiance visa on his behalf to come to the states and marry? He is originally from Ghana.

Amir you seem to be very knowledgable with questions on this site, your help would be greatly appreciated.

My friend is a united states citizen and she cares for this man but does not want to marry him in a rush. She can go there and marry him and apply for him to come over, but she wants to take things slow. She has already been there and they have met and spent time together. He wants to marry her but she feels she need more time to know him.

Thanks a lot to anyone else who will leave suggetions as well.

    Fiance Visa

Fiance visa requires a lot of documents for the fiance living abroad, such as passport, police certificate, etc.

If he is a refugee in another country, how will he obtain those? I doubt there is any clear explanation in the immigration for this type of situation.

      fiance visa

He has a passport and i am married to an refugee over there already and we are going thru the process. its simple getting the police report from ghana, my husband has all his papers and we are watiting for interview now. I went over to greece and married him because at the time i was not sure if i could apply for fiance visa. Now this is how my friend wants to do with her companion so i am trying to see if it is possible. Maybe i should tell her to contact a lawyer and see what the legal aspect is. Thank you for replying back it helps a lot.
