Does anyone know whether engaging an Attorney may help to speed an I-129F processing process at CA SC?

Hello
I consulted an attorney before I decided to go forward with our application. He told me that many people do this themsleves. USCIS can hold anybody up for anything, it does'nt matter who you are. This is a quote from him "the only difference of me doing it is I will have my name on it, and you will pay me money for it". So, I did everything myself, and I did have a RFE. I didn't have the right stamp on my divorce paper. I corrected it and we had our approval 3 days later. This site is full of good people and resources...Try it yourself!!! Good luck to you!

our experience
We sent our I-129F petition to the USCIS in Calif. we did it ourself. We just made sure that everything was organized according to the help we received on this website. The timeline was suppose to be 6 months but we were approved in 3 months. This is just our personal experience. Patients is a virtue, good luck!

Of course there are some that take a long time because they weren't filed properly with complete information. Sometimes a person's name comes up on a security check and has to be further verified. If you have a very, very common name there could be a suspected terrorist or criminal with your same name, so they have to check you out longer using more information to clear your name. Those kinds of cases are the ones with the posted dates, but most others sailed through months before.
