got work permit..........next step ?

hi,

I got my work permit which is valid for only one year.

1. why it is valid for only one year and after one year what am i supposed to do.

2. I have got an interview appointment in april for my i-485. i am supposed to get my permanent residency card after that. Is that a green card or am i supposed to wait more to get my green card? ( is this interview going to be a hard interview? is there any chance of denial like visa ? )

3. Normallly how long it takes to get us citezenship after getting work permit. I am married to us citizen and have a baby who is also us citizen.


I want to get all my rights because it seems ridiculous that i am the only one in my family who does not have all the rights.

1. If you are not granted a GC by then, it can be extended.
2. 485 being approved means your GC is approved. It will take few weeks to get the actual card which can be used for employment in lieu of the EAD.
