  • U.S. Citizen k1 fiancee from Iran

Ok, I am soooo stressed out with this stuff!
I am a U.S. Citizen, My Fiancee is From Tehran, Iran. We have gathered our information and documents to continue forward with the 129F forms... As I was reading the requirements it states: (An additional requirement is that you have met your fiancee in person within the previous two years. This requirement can be waived but only under very specific circumstances.) We have never met face to face. We have been chatting via instant messaging, emails, phone calls everyday minimum 4 hours a day since Dec. 22, 2008. What do I do? How do I waive the meeting process? I've got most of everything completed in the filing process except this requirement putting a halt on my submission. Please anyone with any information please, please, please help!
P.S. - How long does it take for the application approval process?
Thanks and Much Love to the ones who help!!!!!!!! Sincerely, Mark -

I know that people who watch a lot of TV wouldn't agree with me, but as you are setting yourself up to learn: When it comes to federal government, written code (laws and regulations) is one thing, and how things are really done is another.

Yes, law and regulations allow waiver of legal requirements, but again, that's the written code. In reality, you meet ALL of the legal requirements, including meeting in person, PLUS consular official's undeclared personal requirements to qualify.

Iranians cases were going to Istanbul in the 1980's but since 1990's they are going to Abu Dhabi, where, without exception, they are all being put into a black hole (file cabinet) called intra-consulate administrative processing.

Sure, Clinton signed bill for K3/ K4 visas to unite married couples within 6 months, instead of the usual 2 years, but with intra-consulate administrative processing, consulates have rolled things back to 2 years, if not longer.
