    yes

yes you can work after you receive your EAD card but you have to file it first of course after your marriage.
file the following applications: form I130, I485, I765, I131 you can download those forms at the uscis website and follow instructions

DO NOT file I-130 as you are a K1.

File the I-485 (Adjustment of Status)
Photographs (2) of immigrant (passport type)
Photocopy of birth certificate of immigrant with translaton
Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page
Form G-325A Biographic Information Sheet (immigrant)
Form I-864 Affidavit of Support (by USC) with photocopies of supporting documents:
      ---Employment letter
---2008-2006 tax returns including copies of W2s (Photocopy)
      ---six recent pay stubs (Photocopy)
Photocopy of I-797 Notice of Action, I-129 Petition Approval Notice from USCIS
      Certified copy of Marriage Certificate
Photocopy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record (card from the plane, may be stapled in passport)
Form I-693 with the immunization section filled out by a US Civil Surgeon, signed and sealed by him. Read the instructions for the form.

      I-765 (Employment Authorization)
Photographs (2) of immigrant (passport type)
Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page
Photocopy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record

      I-131 (Advance Parole travel document)
Photographs (2) of immigrant (passport type)
Statement of circumstances that warrant issuance of advance parole
Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page
Photocopy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record

And a check for $1010 made out to the Department of Homeland Security
That's 3 separate applications with supporting evidence all mailed together in one envelope with one check. They will get processed in different places, so that's why the duplication of evidence. You don't have to do all three, but the second two are free if sent with the AOS and will get you authorized to work or travel sooner than waiting for the green card to arrive in most cases. Green card could take 6 months. Work and travel 60-90 days.

Do not work until the I-765 is approved and you have the EAD card
Do not leave the US until the I-131 is approved (K1s) and you get the travel documents or you will not be allowed back in. Once you have a green card, then no problem.

Once you get the EAD card, Texas will issue you a driver's license.

Correct me if am wrong someone told me the you have to file the AOS application in order to get a ss# how did you get a ss# without sending in the AOS application? After you file the AOS and received the EAD card don't you have to go to the ss office to get your ss# the card?

A K1 can get a SS card shortly after arrival. It's best to wait two weeks to make sure your arrival information has been recorded in the SAVE database. You must show your passport, K1 visa, and the I-94 card you got at arrival. SS needs to find you in the database before they can issue a card. It should arrive in the mail a week or two later. If you wait past 67 days of arrival, then it's too late to be issued a card and you have to wait for the EAD card in order to get one. K3s can not get a SS card until after they receive EAD.

The K1s SS card will say "Valid for Work with DHS Authorization Only."

That means you can't work (even though you have a card) until you have something from DHS showing they have authorized you to work. That would be your EAD card or green card.

Once you get the green card, you can go back to the SS office and get the "Valid for Work with DHS Authorization Only" taken off the card. At the same time women can changed their name to their married name by showing their marriage certificate. They will mail you a new card.
