  • I-134 questions

Well, the k-1 petition seems to be moving along quite well, and we are at the point where I (the American) need to fill out the I-134. However, I am currently a student and therefore do not meet the poverty guidelines, so my parents are going to co-sponsor with me.

Question: on the I-134, what relation should we put for my fiance when it asks for "Relationship to sponsor"?

Also, on the 864, there is a spot that the person checks off for being the primary or co-sponsor, but the I-134 doesn't have anything like this. Therefore, do both I and m father fill out seperate I-134's? I assume this to be the case.

    Thanks!

    I-134

You would imagine you would put "Fiance" since you are after all engaged. I'm filing the I-134 as well for a fiance visa and I put "Fiance" for "relationship to sponsor". Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but what else would you put? would you put "girlfriend", or "friend".... if you said that when filing for fiance visa then they would be suspicious that you two aren't serious with your relationship

Yes, I would write fiance for the form I fill out, but I meant for my father. For my father's form, do we put "Daughter's Fiance"?

        Yes

And you both will fill out I-134s. Send a photocopy of proof of your father's status with his, ie birth certificate, bio page of US passport, naturalization papers, or permanent resident status.

If you the primary sponsor did not file taxes because you didn't have income or it wasn't enough to be required to file, then write a statement explaining why you dont have a tax return to go with your I134.
