  • please answer me !!!!!!

    hi,

i have received my conditional green card and have some questions related with it.

    1. My father-in-law sponsored my k3 visa and i-485 as my wife was not financially strong ( although she has to jointly file sponsorship for me too ). So would I need my father-in-law to jointly sponsor with my wife again while applying to remove conditions on my GC?

    2. My green card is valid for 2 years so is it possible for me to apply for 4 yr degree program since my card would expire after 2 yrs? Or do i have to wait till i get my actual green card with no conditions?

    3. my wife is a us citizen and she got financial aid for her education. So am i eligible for the same financial aids and student loans?

I would appreciate any help in this regards.

    thanks

1.Generally you will not need sponsor again, as your father in law is still co-sponsoring you until you get your citizenship.

    2. Your card will not expire as long as you file I-751 for petition to remove conditional greencard. DO NOT let your GC expire.

    3. If your aid and loan do not require citizenship, so check with the terms for those.

      thank you!! one more question?

      Hi,

You said my father in law is still considered co-sponsoring me till I get my gc, does it mean we don't need him to sponsor us again and fill out any sponsorship papers? the reason i am asking this is because He has changed his mind and now is against this marriage so If we would be required to have his sponsorship again, it won't be possible. so my concern is:

      1. Would i need him continuously till i get citizenship?

      please solve this confusion..

I would appreciate any help in this regard.

      thanks

You will not need to provide sponsor for I-751 because like I'd said you are sponsored until you obtain a US Citizen (However long it takes). Your father in law sponsored you and the sponsorship is a contract between the US government, so I don't think he can get out of it easily.
