  • K1 Just Filed

    Hi There

Thought I'd share my experience on here as I have taken alot of comfort in the stories of others

Firstly... I have noticed on some sites the K1 applications seem to be taking a lot less than 6 months these days, with some approved in just a month ! Anyone have any comments on that ?

    Ok here goes

I am a British Citizen (male) and my US Fiance and I have recently filed for a K1, It was mailed to UCSIS on the 29th May, so should hopefully be receiving a reciept by around 22nd June (Approx 14 Days after they received it)

    1. Mailed on 29th May 2009
    2. .....awaiting reciept.......

I summited my i129f on feb 25,2009 got NOA on Mar. 9,2009 my application is still pending hopefully i will get NOA 2 soon. I think the USCIS just put up that 6 months timeframe but it really only take 4 months because my cousin and a friend summited an i130 and a i129f and they got there approval within 4 months.

        1. Mailed on 29th May 2009
        2. NOA1 Date 1st June 2009
        3. File touched at UCSIS 8th June 2009
        4. Awaiting NOA1 in Mail

Well we finally got our case number so we can track our appplication online, but we had to call UCSIS to get it as we hadn't yet received the paper copy in the mail.

So everythings fine, and our file was touched on the 8th June, a week after receiving.

Here's hoping we're one of the faster processed couples, without the need for the dreaded RFE's !

Wishing you the best of luck that you get processed soon! I am a US citizen and my fiance lives in England. We filed our K1 on March 12, 2009 and still haven't received anything from Immigration, besides a receipt number I know that we need to submit further evidence, but we haven't even received a letter or response whatsoever from them. It is utterly frustrating!!

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but unfortunatley as I understand it, receiving one of these requests for further information greatly increases the processing time,

I am interested to know whether or not you used a lawyer or immigration specialist ?

If not, I would suggest getting one...

I am in shock that certain people getting their notice of approval so fast? Does it really have to deal with different centers? We filed our K1 application in March 2009 with Vermont and haven't received anything from immigration???! How is it that other people are getting approved in less than a month?
