My K1 has been filed since June 1st, I just visit my fiance last week without any problems although they never asked me why i was visiting the US which was strange, they just presume cos I was flying first class to Las Vegas that I was some little rich kid off to gamble away my money... lol...

EDIT: I was never asked about the visa, therefore I offered up no additional information about it. had I been asked I had all the required documentation with me to show that I had strong ties to my home country and a letter from my employer etc... I answered all the questions the POE officer asked me truthfully just to clear that up lol...

From reading other peoples experiences would you say doing yourself has had less efficiency in getting processed?

This is why I chose an expert to put it together for me it cost me $485... for me, that was value for money for piece of mind

I am very organized though and I would actually rather talk to an US Embassy employee than a lawyer though. The only reason I would get a lawyer is if it actually takes longer to be processed. I just want to see who on here has got a help and then compare it to those you haven't and see if there is a difference in the time it takes for them to be approved.

I did it myself but I also got a request for additional evidence that probably added an extra week to the process.
My Fiancee arrived here on a K-1 VISA.
            Conditional GreenCard has been received.

it really depends on each individual... but for me, i did mine myself because i don't really want to pay if i can do it myself.. i'm also not in a hurry to bring my fiance here.. both of us can wait... eventually we'll be together in less than a year.. the average is 5-10 months based from my research... that's not bad..

SAME AS WHAT RUSSELL HAD... I HAD A REQUEST FOR FURTHER EVIDENCE WHICH JUST DELAYED A WEEK... NOW IT'S IN THE PROCESS AGAIN... a week or two is not bad...

If you think that having an expert help you and pay the cost, then do what you think will give you peace of mind...

Here's my estimation of when I'll get mine

                Filed: 29th May 2009
                Receipt NOA1: 1st June 2009
Expecting NOA2 - anytime in September (going by current processing)
Expecting to have medical and embassy interview - anytime in November
Visa issued: A week or so after the interview (London UK Embassy)

Leaving for the US: End of November, start of December

So the countdown is on for me people going by my judgment (after doing plenty of research) I expect no longer than 4 months from now I will be with my fiance

Anyone else care to share their own (sensible) predictions ?

Thanks you guys. I think we will do it ourselves. We aren't in a huge rush to get me there, an extra few weeks to save about $500 dollars or more I think is worth it. I will just make sure I have the evidence ready to go, just in case they ask for more on our LAST meeting. lol

Another question for all of you, when do you send in the evidence in the first place? Do you send it with the petition? Do you bring it to your interview?

mine took 3 months only till they got to my files... and i filed at california service center which is a little faster than vermont...

i got the last meeting (RFE) because i didn't send in much evidence..

best thing, follow instructions on the applications forms and send in a much evidence that both of you met within 2 yrs... pictures with dates... passport stamps... make sure to make a note so the consular will get every detail...

for the interview, i guess you bring all paperworks with you.. if you are the beneficiary... the more the better...

you send in the evidence with your application... if you read the I-129f instructions page carefully, you'll know what you need... just send in as much proof of your relationship... so you wouldn't get asked for the LAST MEETING evidence... lol..

Thanks, I have a picture album with dates and then a binder organized by month over the last 2 years with phone bills (his number highlighted), money transfers, boarding pass stubs, and Email conversations.
Is there anything else you would suggest I add?

My finace is in Texas so our center is Vermont.

When you were filling out the form did you talk to anyone for help, Customs & Immigration or US Embassy?

make a copy of atleast 3-5 pictures of you together with dates on it, anything that will convince the consular that both of you established a relationship... just send in many... so you wouldn't get asked for any evidence... all you said is enough.. i have an album of me and my fiance but it doesn't have a date on it.. so i read had to find ones which had dates... i sent in bus tickets, passport stamps, a lot of pictures with notes on it.. probably 6-8 pictures, airplane tickets...

oh, i think vermont is slower than california right now.. you can check on the processing dates for vermont to estimate when yours will be processed...

i didn't talk to anyone in immigration... i just gathered things needed and read the instructions many times... the only people i asked were those who applied for this before.. coz they can relate to my situation...

for the 129f they are only interested in your last actual meeting. I think I made the mistake of sending in evidence for two meetings.

Just send in evidence of the LAST meeting (the letter for additional evidence had "Last" just like that Bold underlined and capitalized hehe). The letter requested evidence of meeting as Photographs, airline ticket stubs, receipts, copies of passport pages that show admission stamps, military orders, letter from commanding officer.

Phone bills, money transfers and email will be good for your fiancees VISA interview at the embassy for when he will need to show proof of relationship.
