  • help again pls..

    i am now working even if i dont have my EAD result and AOS.I used my SSC to get a job and they hired me.is this wrong?i worked even if i dont have a green card yet?please help....thank you....

    Bit of a grey area this one... apparently you are authorised to work temporarily for 90 days until your K1 expires, but working after that without an EAD is considered unlawful... although the UCSIS generally forgives it

    If you enter through JFK airport with a K1 you get a stamp on your visa which says eligible to work for 90 days, any other you don't but your still 'technically' allowed.

    You will be asked to fill in an I9 form from your employer, this is pretty much to make sure your eligble to work in the US, if your employer checks your SSN there may be comeback on whether or not your actually allowed to work,

    Getting your EAD asap is the best bet, but there is a loophole that allows you to work for the duration of your K1 (90 days)

    Sorry I couldn't be more clear, but seems the Social Security Office and the UCSIS have different views on whether or not your allowed to...

      hi,i think i dont have to worry now about my work status, because yesterday i recieved my EAD card from USCIS.i am happy that i can work legally now.thank you very much for the help.

          hi,it only takes a month and 10 days,and i already got my EAD.In the letter says that my papers has been approved.I'm just wondering why my last name in my EAD is still my last name when i am single,not my husband's last name yet,but its says there if i want to change the name just file I-90 form.the ID will expire after a year so ill just change next year.thanks

            A month and ten days, wow, excellent... I hold out in hope that mine will be processed just as quick
