NJ Immigration Attorney

My fiance and I never used an immigration attorney when we first filed our K1, as I was originally told it would not make much of a difference.

Can anyone provide the name of a reliable NJ attorney? (You can send me a name in a private message if you feel more comfortable).

It has been 4 months since our application was received by the Vermont center and we haven't received any response from them, except for a receipt number. I am now thinking that we should get an attorney to help us.

WAIT TILL YOUR CASE IS OUT OF THE PROCESSING TIME FRAME AND CALL YOUR CONGRESS MAN/WOMAN. I AM FROM NEW JERSEY AS WELL AND MY K1 IS STILL PENDING I PULLED OUT ALL THE TRICKS BUT I HAVE TO WAIT LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.

My reasoning is that after much research, these people have the experience to 'get it right first time'

If you mess anything up, and receive a request for further evidence, then you greatly reduce your processing time.

The experts know how to present it best, and history has shown that the better it is presented to UCSIS, the faster it is processed.

I paid $485 for the service from Jim, and let me tell you thats the best $485 i ever spent, piece of mind that I hadn't messed up the application and also great advice and answers all my questions quickly !

Smiths, it takes approx 6months for your petition to go from pending to approve....then after that it's another waiting period for the application to be received by NVC. That's where I am. They origianlly said it can take up to 90days for them to receive it, I'm now at 98days. I'm waiting to hear back from my congressman's office. But I have a feeling that the final answer is going to be....wait patiently.

The majority of applications are approved within 3 - 5 months, then usually takes 1 week to be sent to NVC, after forwarding onto your embassy they can take anytime up to 2 months to arrange your interview...

My application has been with the UCSIS for 1 and half months now, so I techinically class myself as at the halfway point of the UCSIS process.

UCSIS received: 1st June

My expected date of approval : 31st August


This is just me basing it on others at the same CSC and using the same embassy as I am...
