  • Help! Affidavit of Support in depth question

Greetings! Please help! Here's my situation:
I started my job last March 09 as a contractor. I currently make 6 figures.
    1. Does my income itself qualify for the "poverty guideline thing?"
    2. Do I still need to submit assets, bank statements, etc.? ...my bank account is currently in "recession" because I moved from Seattle to Hawaii for my new job and I spent a lots of $$. Will it affect the visa application for my fiancee? I'm just trying to go around the system where I can just show my Income Tax return from 2007 & 2008 and current salary and paystub without them looking for my bank statement because I'm currently broke!..I'm even ashamed showing it to them. Can anyone advise me on this?

    V/r

Take a look at the I-864 affidavit of support. It allows you to state the last three years income as stated on your federal income tax return while only sending a copy the most recent (2008) federal tax return.

Check with your individual embassy on which forms to use for the affidavit of support. The one that my fiancee will use states on their website that the I-134 is not enough and to use the I-864.
My Fiancee arrived here on a K-1 VISA.
    Conditional GreenCard has been received.

You should be fine as the sole sponsor using your salary. People show assets and bank accounts when they need to make up for a weak salary picture. The income tax returns (with W2 copies), letter from employer, and paystubs should be enough, but each consulate has their picky ways. Try to find the website of your Embassy and see if they give ideas of how they like to see proof. The rules of this website won't let me post links to a USCIS or Embassy official location because they think they are more current and you might get bad information from the official government site. Go figure.
      Google is your friend.

        Affidavit of Support?

I'm just starting the process to get my fiance over here. I'm reviewing the I-129F instructions and am not seeing anything about an affidavit of support. Where is this required?
