You have some choices to make...get the K3 or the CR1/IR1 since they were approved at the same time. Normally the I-129F beats the I-130, so people go with that

The I-129F should make it to NVC in two or so days, then leave there in two more, and take 4 days to arrive at the Embassy. Some people are held at the NVC in "Additional Processing" for security checks but that isn't common. No way to know except call and ask if they have your petition and/or when they sent it to the Embassy. If you call, speak to a live person as they do not put I-129F records into their automated database. It will say "not found." If it's not left there in a week, then it may be held in AP. Then it depends on if you have a fast or slow Embassy. They all vary in their procedures of handling the documents and their workload. The beneficiary will submit documents to the Embassy to apply for the K3 and have a medical exam. Eventually she will have an interview to receive the K3 visa.

If you choose this route: Visa fee=$131. Mountain of paperwork to file Adjustment of status (green card application) after arriving in the US. AOS =$1010. And a Civil Surgeon will have to fill out an I-693 (immunization section only) for a fee ranging from $30-$100 if you can find one willing to do only the immunizations and not tell you to repeat the medical for $200-$400. She will not be able to work for several months after you file those papers and won't get a green card or social security card for 4-6 months. Those times are after you file and if you're slow getting Civil Surgeon papers and filing forms, then consider that time added on the the processing times listed.

    OR

You will get info from the NVC on the I-130. It stays at the NVC where they process paperwork for the green card and social security card. The USC will submit forms and will be billed for about $470. The immigrant will prepare other forms and gather documents for an interview and have a medical exam. Eventually she will have an interview at the embassy. With the CR1 or IR1 visa, she will enter the US as a permanent resident and receive a Social Security Card and green card in the mail within a couple of weeks. She can work immediately. She does not have to see a Civil Surgeon.

So your decision is which one to go with.

If you want a K3 which could process a month faster, then don't respond to the NVC documents and fees associated with the I-130. Wait to do the K3 documents with the Embassy. Keep in mind the additional cost and the paperwork associated with applying for the GC in the US.

If you want the CR1/IR1, then follow the instructions from the NVC and do not send the K3 visa documents to the Embassy when they send instructions to your wife about how to go forward and get a K3.

      Thanks for your response.

      My I-129F & I-130 got approved on Aug 20th.

should I wait for couple of days before calling NVC, or can I call them now.

Call any time you like. Not a free number and often get a busy signal.

1-603-334-0700, press 1 for English, then 5 for an operator (I129F)

If it's already arrived, ask what you newly assigned case number is. You can start filling out the Embassy forms if you're going K3. It will start with 3 letters representing your embassy MNL Manila, LND London, RDJ Rio di Janerio, etc.

Use automated system for info on I-130. Put in your USCIS case number. Never used that so don't know what kind of info is available.

Hours: Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM (EST). Best time to call is 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM and 10:00 PM to 12:00 PM (EST)

I personally think CR1/IR1 is the way to go based on now knowing the hassles of applying for AOS and EAD in the US, not to mention the $1010.

          Thanks

          Thanks Nicole for your response.

Where should I do my medical for K3?

How will I know, whom and where to go?

          Please advise me on this.

Every country has their own approved place for visa medicals. I don't know your embassy, so can't reply. In London, it's the Knightsbridge clinic. People from Manila refer to St. Lukes. You should get instructions in the mail from your embassy telling you where you can have your medical. Or you can google "US Embassy London" for example and perhaps find a website for the embassy. Some have really informative websites that would provide info or a link to the approved medical clinic. Once a petition is approved by USCIS, then the details of actually getting the visa are more country specific because each Embassy sets up their own procedures for collecting the paperwork and scheduling interviews.

                Cr1/ir1

CR1/IR1 would take longer than K3 route.
                K3 is expensive but quicker.

                  Good News

                  Hey everyone
My I-130 was just approved. I received an email fro CRIS just some minutes ago and was also told that the notice was sent out on September 3. I also filed i-129F but I have not heard anything. While I am very ,very happy, I do not know what to do now. My mind went blank for a moment. I need a seasoned person to help me now. Do I wait on I-129F approval or proceed? Please help me while I try to calm down.

you wait for couple of days, your i-129f also will be approved pretty soon.

Then you can go with k3 route.

I just checked the site and it is saying that both the i130 and i129f were both approved and the notice was sent out on the 3rd. Will there be instructions in there on what I should do next. anyway, can some one please tell me what is next as far as my husband is concerned? I am so excited.

I130 & K3 both approved in less than a month!!!

                        Hi,
I filed for my husband's I-130 on August 20,2009 and then filed for K3 on September 9,2009 and surprisingly both were approved on September 17, 2009 (Less than a month!!!!). Now I am confused.. I applied for K3 because I heard that I130 will take a long time to be approved, but now that it has been approved already, I want to proceed with the I-130. Now, how do i choose only I130 to be processed. If I recieve letters from K3 before I130, should i keep silent untill i hear from I-130? Very confused now. Does anybody has a suggestion?
                        Thanks

You may keep silent or you may go ahead and get the K3 interview date. You will probably be allowed to switch the date for the CR1 interview, in case the I130 file reaches the consulate before the K3 interview date. If not, then it is your call if you want to appear in K3 interview or want to wait for the CR1 interview.
I am in the same situation.

But I never came across anyone as helpful and well informed as Nicole.
