my husband will have his interview soon and we were wondering should he purchase a ticket now or wait to be approved. I believed one of the questions on the form ds-156 asks have you purchased and what date you plan on leaving. this seems cocky to me but someone tell me what you think especially someone who has been approved. Thanks

Wait till the visa is approved. There is no requirement to buy the tix in advance as airlines now charge an arm and a leg for changes and cancellations. If VO asks, he can respond saying he plans to travel on XYZ date and book the tix as soon as he gets the visa.
