Visa Denied and need help

Hello,
I am a US citizen and my fiance is from Argentina. We applied for the fiance visa in June and I sent in the initial application and the fee. We just recently got an email saying our visa was denied and that we will be recieving a letter stating the reasons for the denial. I am completely confused because as far as I was aware they would ask for additional information before coming to a decision, and this is the first I have heard anything. Any ideas on what we did wrong?

I am sorry to hear your visa was denied. You will need to recieve your letter of denial. I recommend you consider using an immigration attorney for your right to appeal. Hopefully everything was disclosed it truth on your application. God bless and good luck.

it's becoming increasingly more frequent of late to be honest... i think sometimes people rush into the application too hastily thinking that because it takes so long they want to get it in as soon as possible and miss out important parts of the paperwork. In all honesty, it's best to take that extra week or so to ensure that everything is 100% correct.... an extra week of checking and re-checking is much easier to deal with than a further 8 months processing time if the visa is denied...

The same situation happened with my fiance and I. We submitted our application and fee, but didn't submit "evidence" to support our relationship, as we were under the impression the process worked an entirely different way.

My advice to you is to not waste your time appealing. When we went through this situation, I consulted an immigration attorney who suggested we file another I-129F application, instead of appealing. Legally, USCIS had the right to deny your application, as you didn't submit the required documentation so they didn't make an error in law. You would have to prove that USCIS made an error in ruling against you, which they really didn't.

My fiance and I filed another I-129F at the beginning of September and this time, we made sure our package with 100% complete and we received our approval notice from the Vermont Service Center on October 23, 2009.
