  • When to file 129f

OK me an my girl friend meet on the internet 2 months ago and have talked daily on the phone and yahoo messenger since. also have written a few letters each way. we are really getting along very well and i have decided to visit her in the Phlippines next week. If we decide to get married and file a K1 visa 129f. Would it get approved if we only have known each other for a short time or should we wait to file for a while, if so how long would be good. Also if we decide to get married is there any thing i should make shure i get done while i am there.

    thanks

I've chosen to be the foriegner thats gets married in the USA because it makes better practical sense for both of us. Its probably quicker than applying for a Husband/Wife visa if the American gets married abroad and wants to bring them into the US

I've visited my Fiance, her family and friends in the USA 8 times over 3 years and have a 3 inch thick pile of letters & dated envelopes and many photographs together even if we see and speak on MSN everyday and don't need to phone or mail each other.

2 months does seem like a very short relationship that ends in marriage and relies on letters, etc, especially since the whole process takes 6-12months. You never said if you had actually met her for the first time but i'll take it for granted you have. However i do wish you both the very best and offer the good advice of .....

*saving all paper phone bills with the Philippines to USA appearing on them

*Print out all flight schedules in triplicate on your visits and save them

    *Save every letter and envelope.

Maybe i've heard too much about Oriental bride scams, but at only 2 months into a relationship you'll really, really need to prove you are both honest, committed to each other and at the very least willing to make it last for years despite the cultural differences. A failed but honest approval will set you back months, hundreds of dollars and delay other people

I am currently a student in the US and I study in Orlando whereas my fiancee stays in NYC.

We got engajed over the sumer. We are trying to file my paperwork. Is there a possible way where we get married legally but We shall stay in different states. This is due to we both are still going to school and none of are able to move due to either last year or last semester.
