is there an expiration date for k3 Visa entry to US?

Hi All,

my husband is an american and wants to bring me to US and would like to file k3. however, he also wants to stay in the Philippines for awhile. so our dilemma is, if he applies and I got a visa and there is an expiration date of the visa and we dont want to move to US just yet... that would really be a big mess ha?

My wife got a 2 yr K3 Visa. Perhaps it varies with each applicant.
