Interview Location

I'm desperately seeking information regarding the K1 visa interview.

My fiancee is from Bolivia, I am a US soldier stationed in Lima, Peru. She wants to come to Lima to live with me. Is it possible to schedule her interview with the Peruvian Consulate or does she have to attend the interview in her country of nationality?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Where did you say in your application that she would interview? or you just have not gotten to that part yet. If so, I believe you state where and the US, not Peruvian, Consulate in that place will be it then.

I am also hoping that our govt will cut you some slack (if needed) given what you do for us all.

You can request the file/case be transferred between consulates. Trouble is, they don't always just do that next day. Not really knowing anything about your specific consulates I've read of several others who took a month to send the file. The contacted the consulate with the file in an official letter stating the change of address and formally requested that the case be transfered to another consulate.

Have you tried filing a change of address form with USCIS before the petition is approved. They often go by the address of the beneficiary and automatically send the file to the nearest consulate. You could try that. Once approved it will go to the National Visa Center (NVC) for only a few days. It's the NVC that forwards cases (via DHL courier) to the various embassies. I don't think trying to change embassies with the NVC would work. The NVC is basically the handoff from USCIS to Dept of State (DOS) who issues visas. Once the case leaves the NVC, then you deal with the Dept of State for issues, not the USCIS.
