Reasons for denial

As my fiance's interview date nears, I am sick with worry about being denied. What are the reasons for a denial of a K-1 Visa? He just had his medical examination on Tuesday and he is in perfect health, so I do not think that would be a factor. He has all of his documentation and we have submitted everything that was required, so although I may be worrying over nothing, I just want us to be approved and to finally be together! The past 3 years have been hell living apart and I just want to finally be with him!

Does anyone have any information as to why a couple would be denied?

Hate to state the obvious - denial if they detect fraud or misrepresentation of any kind. If you are kosher on those matters, no worries then.

We certainly are 100% honest about our relationship And we have all the required paperwork, etc., so I know that there isn't any logical reason that we would be denied, but this just means so much to the both of us, that I cannot take it lightly. I am a worrier to begin with, and we have one week until his interview takes place, so the butterflies are a plenty right now!

I am a worrier too and I was horrified the night before her VISA interview when I double checked her paperwork only to find that she was missing her police certificate. I had just flown in the night before the interview so that was the first time that I could check /sigh.

She did the interview without the certificate and was simply told that her VISA was approved pending the police report. We got the missing police report from the translators the same day and turned it in to the embassy security guards. One week later she had her VISA and we were on our way together to USA.

I was again worried that she would fail her border crossing at the airport so I asked the border officer about a K-1 VISA crossing and he gave me a reassuring "don't worry she will probably just be proccessed."

Thanks for sharing your story, Russell. As I am sure you are aware, the entire process has been absolutely exhausting - mentally, physically, and financially - so when you finally get to the interview date, you just want everything to go smoothly. The fact that I have no control over any decision, as I am not the one being interviewed, you just feel helpless. I do find comfort in the knowledge that if, by chance, something is missing in our paperwork or they would request any additional from me, that they would give us approval, pending the documentation required.

I have heard positive things about the London Embassy which is where my fiance has his interview, so I am trying to be as optimistic as I can be!

Just got the phone call I have been waiting for! My fiance's K-1 Visa was approved I didn't get the full details about his experience at the London Embassy, just yet, but he did say that the experience was extremely nervewracking but thankfully, we were approved 100%!
