  • Proof of relationship

We started our K1 process back in December. We've breezed through USCIS with no RFE's or anything. Finally got our appointment for the interview and we thought we were well prepared. Photos of us together and with her family both in Philippines and on vacations in several areas over the years, plane tickets, receipts and so on. She answered all of the questions during the interview with absolutely no issue. At the very end the interviewer asked her to provide copies of text messages (the only thing we hadn't printed out because they were a massive number of them) and she wasn't able to provide because of not having them on her person. She was issued a 221g and told to email or bring back copies of them with her passport. She returned the following day with approximately 100 pages of excerpts of our texts, approximately 30 more pictures, phone records covering the last 4 years of our relationship. They took her passport and said she would get it back in 3-5 days and everything should be all set. 30 minutes later she gets an email stating that her passport is being returned and what we provided was not sufficient. Since then we have provided the entire transcript of our chat sessions in ******** messenger (8300 pages, and over 200k texts), receipts of our engagement and wedding ring purchases and everything we can think of. We've sent copies of conversations with each others family members that have happened over the years, group chats we have as a family and other things. The only thing we haven't been able to provide were texts from when we first met as we used Yahoo Messenger which no longer exists and we didn't consider needing a copy of our texts there since we had hundreds of pictures during this time frame. Today, we get a message stating that our visa is still temporarily refused because we haven't provided sufficient evidence of our relationship and they need copies of our texts from when we first met 4 years ago (which no longer exist due to Yahoo messenger closing) and what we have given to this point doesn't meet the requirements for proof. We have absolutely 0 red flags, no police convictions, history of drugs or anything. I'm retiring from the military in 2 months with an impeccable record and she is a highly educated nurse with great job prospects. We are at a complete loss as to why they seem to be singling us out and the people we hired to assist us are as stumped as us. The only thing we can think of is that the interviewer at the embassy has some issue with our age difference as she seemed to drill my fiance about this during the interview. My fiance is 29 and I'm 53. Age gaps like this are not unusual in Philippine culture and I don't understand why the interviewer seemed to take issue with it. If anyone has suggestions on possible routes forward, It would be appreciated. I'm currently getting affidavits and notarized letters from family and friends as well as having a notarized letter drawn up regarding the Yahoo messenger text gaps.

Hi Michael! I have this friend, she filed a petition for her fiance, interview was done last July 11. He is on K-1 visa. They have known each other for 10 months now. The Following day of interview they got a letter that the case is refused for administrative processing. And the passport was sent back to him. Whats your thought on this, the visa is denied or what? Because i have read your posts that currently your visa is temporarily denied after sending all those requirements that they need. Theyre also Filipinos. I have heard that the K-1 visa is now getting harder.
