I am currently in the immigration process. I just received a letter advising me of my appointment at the U.S. Consulate in Montreal this coming May. Here is my question. Does anyone know if I can enter the U.S. on my K-1 Visa (after it is issued), apply to have my status adjusted, then file the I-131 Application for Travel Document and come back to Canada to finish out my current work contract? If anyone is familiar with the I-131 - do you know how long it takes to process? Thanks for any help.
