  • X-rays

I was approved for a K1 visa and will travel to the US on the 26th April, can anybody tell me which is the best way to transport my x-rays that I was given by the the Embassy in London, they are in a rather large envelope and I can't put them through the xray machine that your shoes and hand luggage go through, they were proving to be a bit of a pain when I flew back to Scotland from London in Feb, I couldn't get the envelope in my my backpack as it was too big? I had to ask the air steward to keep it in a small compartment up front with them and as a result left it onboard when we disembarked and had to go back for it.
Can anyone tell me if this is ok to go into my cases in the hold.

    Many thanks

You can pack the x-ray in a large suitcase that is checked luggage. Or you can kinda roll it gently so it circles around a backpack and you stuff other things in the middle. You don't need it for anything at arrival or for AOS. I think they pass it off to you since it's your medical record and you may want it for your own records. Otherwise Knightsbridge would just be throwing all the x-rays away. Think about it...all the immigrants and visa applicants that go through that one office are never returning, so why would they store all their x-rays, especially those big film kind. Basically you're done with that x-ray. I guess if USCIS loses your medical records, and you had to go to a civil surgeon, and you took a TB skin test which showed positive, maybe, just maybe the civil surgeon would accept your x-ray to examine instead of doing another. It's pretty far-fetched you will need it so don't worry about it too much.
