  • Fiance Interview

    Hi everyone,

I am hoping somone here can shed some light on this problem for me and my fiance. He had his interview today and at the end they gave him back our papers of proof of trips etc.. but then asked him to send them more pictures of us and more IM conversation from 2007??!! and then to dhl them back, he also said they tried to keep his passport but he asked for it back and has to dhl it back to them with the pictures and IM convs we have to send. Does this mean he is not approved?? or that its going bad?? any help would be grateful,

    thanks!

It means that officer wanted to see more photos and historical interaction between you two before he decides to approve. So no, you are not approved yet. Something in your case wasn't fully convincing to him so he's asked for more evidence.

It sounds like a strict consulate because some don't want to see any further proof of the relationship past what you submit with the original petition. Can you tell us the name of the country so others going there might have heads up on what might be expected of them. And without knowing more details of how you met, where, how often you saw each other in person, etc. it's hard to really guess why you weren't approved on the spot.

My fiance is from Egypt. I thought it was strange that they are asking for more information- I sent them a butt load of papers, pictures, phone records, IM conversations, emails, photos, the 3 trips there I took to see him, etc.. I also need to know... will he have to do another interview after he submits the more photos and convo or will they just let him know through certified letter or dhl?

Sad to say, but that might be it.
