  • I-129F Part A Question 10 (Issued Date of Birth Certificate)

For me there is no such thing as a silly question, especially if it prevents paperwork errors from keeping my fiancée away.

Ok here goes; I was born in the U.S. and have a copy of my birth certificate that I'm including in my packet. Question 10 asks for the certificate number, date and place it was issued. When I received the copy of my birth certificate from the county clerk’s office, there are three dates on it. My birth date, the date my birth certificate was filed (11 days after my birth), and the issue date (When the county clerk sent me the copy of my birth certificate... Last week). Which date should I include when answering question 10?

    Thanks,
    T

Birth Cert of petitioner? I just sent a copy of my US passport and that has only one date - my DOB. Would that not be killing 2 birds with one stone -US citizen proof and DOB?

same here, i just made a photo of my US passport and sent it in since i couldn't find my birth certificate (i had a copy, but i figure the US passport was the real deal) and they accepted it, no quesitons asked. FYI, i filed a K1 as well and she will be arriving in two weeks on may 4th of next month. So don't worry, just get a photo of your Passport and everything is kosher bro.

Thanks, I'm sending both BS & PP since the Passport shows my trips to Honduras and proves I've seen her within the past two years.

Give number of certificate, date and place it was issued.
