K-1 Visa Lawyers

I'm trying to get a K-1 visa started for my girl, looking around I've seen lawyers/internet sites asking between 300$ - 2000$ dollars.

If anyone can please help me figure out why some are so cheap...are they ****, not reliable?

Can anyone recommend a good site that handles K-1's? Or should I try to do this myself?

I think most people have the ability to do the K-1 VISA without a lawyer.

Just download the forms and fill in the blanks. All the instructions come with the forms, if you have questions post them here.

If you get a lawyer then he will ask you for the same information and fill in the blanks. The lawyers do not have any shortcuts, they fill out the same forms that will and send the forms to the same places.

yea, i did all mine by myself and she's stateside already visiting her brother. I'm goign to go see her and bring her back home with me in a cuople of days. Also, im a firm believer that if you want to do something the right way you need to do it yourself. With a lawyer, you don't know whats going on, its all in his hands. If they mess up you wouldn't know about it for a bit where as if you do it yourself you'll have a much better understanding of whats going on. =) Trust me, you got this buddy.

thanks for the replies, i have indeed done it myself.

it was so incredibly easy i recommend anyone to try it themselves first and THEN if something goes wrong get a lawyer.

there should be no need for a lawyer to fill out the forms, actually if you go through a lawyer he will send you a form to fill out that actually has about the same questions on the government form.
