  • Can i apply for K-3 Visa for my wife along with I-130?

    Hi,
I have read about K-3 Visa, do you think it is a less time taking and a better option to consider when i apply for my wife's U.S. immigration? As i want to avoid extended separation associated with the immigration process.
Will be waiting for response. Thank you in advance.

K3 has been obsolete for the last decade. You will get the immigrant visa first and you will not get a K3 even if you apply for it.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

Well, the whole behind the K3 was to shorten the timeline between when you applied for a spousal visa and when your spouse arrived in the US. However, like the other helpful member pointed out, the K3 is obsolete and doesn't serve its purpose anymore. In fact, it's getting phased out. So, don't bother with the K3. Your cr1/ir1 will be approved before they even get to the K3.
      --Good luck--
Good luck. I learned the hard way, I hope you don't have to. Immigration is interesting. Not considered as legal advice.

Okay. Thank you for the response.
Also, I am a green card holder and my wife is a Pakistani resident. In that case, our marriage certificate for I-130 will have her new name or the old one? or what would be the proof for her name change?
        Regards
