Immigrant Visa Filing Process

I am a Jamaican citizen who intends to get married to my Fiancé who is a US citizen in June 2010. I intend to migrate to the state and live with me Husband however we are not sure as to how to go about starting the filing procedures.

My Fiancé lives in Maryland therefore I’m aware that he will have to start the filing petition at the Vermont Service Centre. Could you please provide more information as to what he should do in order to start the filing for my Immigrant Visa rather than a Fiancé Visa?

Fiance interview in resident country

I am applying for a K-1 visa for my fiancé from Nicaragua who is residing in Australia. Is it possible to obtain an interview for the K-1 within Australia, similar to the "third country visa" which is in Mexico and Canada. Any help or direction you can give me would be greatly appreciated. We are desperate to resolve this issue without incurring the cost and confusion of her needing to return to her home country. Her 12 year old son has a student visa and is presently sponsored though a good will mission to attend a school in Australia.
