k1 status after marriage

Just a quick question... what status does my fiance hold during the period after marriage but before i-485 approval?

EDIT: to clarify, her I-94 has an "admit until date" on 10/15/2020, so what happens after that date? Does she become illegal after that date if no i-485 has been submitted? I'm trying to understand how she is seen in a legal sense during this transition period.

She will be out of status after 10/15/2020. She can stay in the US for as long as she has a pending I-485 regardless of whether she is in status or not.

She can only remain in the US until 10/15/2020 unless you file and obtain an I-485 receipt number on or before that date ( I would file atleast 45 days in advance to ensure that it reaches the USCIS and if there are any issues, you can still correct it).
Once I-485 is filed, she can stay till a decision is made.
