    Hello

I could use all the help available.

I am starting the process for the K1 Visa for my fiancé. I will be sending in the packet very soon.

Is there anything I am forgetting?

Is there anything I should expect?

    Checklist:
    I-129f
G-325a for me and my baby
Letter of intent for both of us
    Passport Pics
    My birth certificate
Pictures, emails, and airlines Itineraries showing I have visited there for 7 months consecutively.

I am very nervous and I just want to get him here in the US with me so we can marry and live our life together.

I appreciate all the help I can get.

    Thanks in advance!

some phone bills that show you've been calling here before and AFTER you came back works. I sent in 3 months worth. Other then that, it looks like you got everything. Although, just a reminder passed down from someone to me, make copies of all the originals so you retain at least two sets for yourself. Remember, must be original signatures and all. I sent in 4 copies of everything with original signatures on all 4 copies and kept 2 copies for myself with original signatures. Its not too much work to sign a couple of papers six times, but it is a lot of work when they lose your stuff in the mail or at the consulate and request you do it all again. Better to be safe bro. Good luck man. If you want to see the time line i got one set up of how mine went. Maybe it'll give you some idea as to how long it might be. The consulate my fiance went through is in Taiwan.

        Proof of Relationship

Thats the hard part. I don't really use my cell to talk to him.

We use Skype, ym and email.

        Any other ideas.

He is in the Philippines. He already sent me two copies of everything with original signatures.

I don't have extra originals other than that. I can make a lot of originals for myself but I won't have any additional for him.

        What do you think?

Photocopies of your passport stamp pages showing the date(s) you visited his country. I wrote at the bottom of the photocopy page the date and airport when the stamps were not that readable, just to make the adjudication easier.

What you have sounds very good. They don''t need to be inundated with photos and months and months of emails and Skype logs. Just a nice sampling showing a time range. For example, I sent 4 pictures from various times and locations and that was enough for a very quick approval with no RFEs. A concise, well-documented file showing meeting in person and a relationship to me is better than sending in a five pound mess of 100s of photos and emails that they don't want to wade through.

It is good to keep one exact copy for yourself as a reference of what you sent (including photocopy of your check) in case, heaven forbid, it gets lost in the mail and not delivered. You might want to make a photocopy of the entire packet to send to your fiance, so he knows what you sent and can familiarize himself with what you put down for occupation, places you've lived, where you were born, how you described your meeting. At the interview, they take bits and pieces from your submission to come up with some of their questions. So that's 3 copies--one to mail, one for you, and one for him for reference.

Don't forget the check is made out to:

          US Department of Homeland Security

You should show the arrival stamp into the Phils. A boarding pass is better than an itinerary, as it shows that you got on the plane. Or even a baggage tag showing your name, date, destination. Dated receipts of physically being present in his town are more primary evidence. Do you have credit card purchase receipts or ATM withdrawals from his town? We started digging through our online credit card statements and found each of us purchased something at Harrod's London on the same date. And we each found a Best Buy receipt that we charged and our names were printed on our separate receipts, but showing the date, time, and location in my hometown USA. I photocopied the receipts on one piece of paper and used a highlighter to point out what I wanted them to notice--our names, date, location.

The photos, emails, etc show you have an ongoing relationship, but try to find some cold hard dated evidence of being in the same place at the same time or at least that you were in the Phils on the dates you explained you were together in your statement of how you met and the last time you were together. Don't forget to write on the back of photos both names, the location, and the date.

                Good luck to you

                  Proof

                  Thanks

I didn't keep much of any of my receipts. I have the boarding passes. He has his but it would take some time to get them from him.

I thought what I have together is good evidence. I even have pics of us at work where we met. And pics on our first date. All the way until I left.

The letter of explanation of how we met....how long should it be and what should it include?

                  What do you think?

It's pretty much all laid out here

To get the petiton approved they basically want to know you're free to marry and you met face to face within the last 2 years so they can check off their boxes. (There are some other things if you have committed certain criminal act or went through a marriage broker, but I don't think that applies to you.)

You need primary evidence that you met within the last two years. Photos could be older. Emails and phone calls show you're a couple which is nice but doesn't show meeting in person. Something with a date on it as mentioned is the best PRIMARY evidence of being in the same place. He can scan and email his boarding pass. It doesn't have to be the original.

The statement goes with item 18 on the petition. You write "see statement" in the blank on the form, then on separate paper write
                    Question 18 b
                    Statement of ____________
(sorry not looking at the form, so make it say the right number and title)
Type half to 3/4 of a page (double spaced) telling how you met, when, where. Name of company since you say you worked together. When you became a couple. When you became engaged or decided to marry. It shouldn't be a romance novel but some sweet love thoughts added to the hard facts is a nice balance.

Oh, just found what I was looking for. This is straight from a request for additional evidence from USCIS.

                    Reading from the RFE:
Primary evidence may include, copies of passport pages that show the identification page and admission stamps, airline ticket stubs, and receipts (that indicate month, day, and year) or any evidence that will help the USCIS determine that the petitioner has met the beneficiary within the two years.

Secondary evidence may include film-dated photographs... The following DOES NOT constitute evidence: itineraries, disc, videos, emails, letters, phone bills, phone cards, and greeting cards.
