Hi all,
I nd ur advise so that my heart settles. We got married 3/2008. applied for the DV in 10/2008. Got the 1st NL in Augt 2009 dated 5/28/2009.
CN 2010AF00061ZZZ. I have been following the visa bulletins and saw that this number falls in the cut off for aug 2010. Do u think i shd pretty expect the 2nd NL? If it happens so , i dont have a sponsor yet n i dont know how the whole process goes.

I have been around these parts for sometime. But, I do not understand the jargon fully. May be it's just me. So, pray tell me what DV and NL stand for. I will assume Gc = Green Card.

DV = Diversity Visa. That is, lottery based green card.

I am not sure what is NL. Do you mean Notice Letter?

is it really the way it sounds? A lottery visa?...they just submit their apps and hope they get picked??...

Like we do not have enough diversity and the rest of us just go through a bunch of hoops.

At least this seems to have some process to it unlike the illegals coming over our southern border and acting like it is their birthright to do so.
