  • Sponsoring my fiance

Is it required that I have 5,000 saved in the bank to sponsor my fiance to come to the us so we can get married?

I make enough income. (on a previous thread) + I get child support. I have a 401K retirement fund in stocks, and my paycheck in direct deposited to my account every two weeks. I've just started putting in $20 twice a month in my savings to save up for future change of status forms or any other emergency reasons.

Will i qualify when the time comes to file for my fiance? I haven't filed the petiton yet, but will soon be.

I am just thinking ahead. It would break my heart if they found I didnt qualify to sponsor him on my own. I don't think I'd be able to get a co-sponsor. Please, any advice or answers we'd appreciate. We both love each other and want to get through the red tape.

    Thanks again.

    Income

    I have the same worries.

As long as you make enough from your job and child support and have proof. you are good to go.

For the I-134 it requires 100% above the poverty level. As long as you make that have have pay stubs to show then you will not have to give bank statements.

    Hope this helps.
