Visa Interview in Montreal

Hello everyone,

This is my first post, but I have been looking at this forum throughout the process with my Fiance'

We submitted our K-1 in April and got approved in July. My fiance just received the package from Montreal saying what she needs to submit and they can schedule an interview. On the paper it said they would schedule an interview in 4 to 6 months and I was just wondering if that was indeed true?

This process has been difficult but okay, however with the news that this could take another 4 to 6 months has become disheartening to us. I thought once we had the approved submission from USCIS that everything else would happen in a timely fashion. My fiance hasn't crossed since July 12th when it was approved because they made it seem like they could send her back and delay our petition.

Any words of advice or thoughts from others that have gone through the K-1 through Canada?

Every embassy has a different case load.

It was a 9month wait for my fiancees K-1 VISA (from when I mailed the 129f petition until she received the VISA). Most of that was waiting for USCIS to approve 129f.
