  • I-134 Form - dates in relation to interview

    Hi all -

How recent must a I-134 Affidavit of Support form and supporting documents be dated in relation to the interview at the embassy (this is for a K1 visa)?

We received our NOA1 on May 27 through the CSC and are still in initial review. However, I'd like to gather now and mail to my fiance the documents he will need for his interview (in Malawi) as the mail service there is soooo slow - it took 2-1/2 months for him just to receive his copy of the petition packet from me by mail! - and I want to try to avoid a longer delay if possible. I just don't want the form to not be accepted if it is dated too early.

    Thanks

From my experience as we have just been through K1 visa my fiance sent me the one that he sent to USCIS for 129f petition. But it must be an orignal signed one with an ink signature not a copy or an emailed one. The supporting documents can be copies of you bank statements, work details and so on. We sent everything express mail, I know it costs a little more but gets ther quicker and garanteed

Okay, I will send that off soon so that he receives it in time for his interview. Is there any other documents or forms that I will need to mail to him that he will need other than the I-134?

No just what I mentioned before, they will also tell him what he needs for interview as well from you in packet 4.
In my case I needed bank deposits for last year, date account opened from the bank, employment letter, where you work, date started, permanent or part time and yearly income on your works letter head from your Hr department. I think that was it. Good luck
