Hawaii trip after marriage before AOS

Hi Members,

I wanted to know if there could be any issue to travel to Hawaii after entering US on K1 visa and post marriage. Ofcourse when I make trip to Hawaii I would be having a valid passport and unexpired I-94, I am going to get married to my fiancé in a weeks time after I enter US on K1 visa and in 2 days we will go for our honeymoon to Hawaii. The marriage certificate would not be available by then and even SSN I am going to apply after I get the marriage certificate, neither I would submit for AOS. Given my situation would be okay to travel to Hawaii. Anyone who has done the same, would really appreciate to know more about how was your experience.

The US has 50 states and Hawaii is one of them. It’s like flying to any other state.

When I married my wife we rescheduld our honeymoon trip because of the I believe that until you get advance parole it is just not worth the risk.

If the flight is diverted to Mexico or Canada, the AOS will be deemed abandoned since you won’t have an AP document.

Logically any flight from SFO, SJC, or OAK to Hawaii has no risk of diversion to Canada or Mexico.

We took the risk and flew out of LAX.
