K1 interview screwed up

Hi,
During the K1 interview, my fiancee told them that we had wedding plans in India (which was a big blunder). They immidiately said that it is K3 and she was asked to provide documents of whatever ceremony happens. Based on that they will decide whether to approve K1 or not.

Of course, we are not getting married in India. Will do that in the US.
Now, we will have to send the phographs of our engagement ceremony to Mumbai along with the passport.

Question: Has anyone experienced such a situation where K1 was not approved after the interview and the case was pending for whatever reason.
If so, how long does it take once the pending documents are sent to the consulate and they are happy with it.

Any insights will be appreciated.

Yes I had that happen to me had all my interview organised then when I got there I have the interview and the consulate officer tells me that one of my fiance's divorce decrees was not there, (from US)I was devestated, but he assured me all I had to do was get it sent a certified copy to the consulate and they would finalise my visa. So within the week they had received decree from USA but did not look at the mail till a week later so I emailed them , to ask and they replied they had received it and would process before the week ended. This was Monday just gone 30th Aug they got on it right away and got my visa 1st Sept 2 days later.
Once they get the correct documents they will finalise your fiancee's visa and send it.
Not sure what it is like in Mumbai but my experience was in Sydney Australia so don't worry, get the docs off to them and it should not be long after they receive them they will send visa.We sent everything express mail

No just the document, here in Sydney they hold on to passport from interview. Once they got the document they then printed the visa in passport and sent in express post with my sealed envelope. And ,no no second personal interview.
