Anyone currently in the K1 fiancé visa process - How is it going?

Hi all,

Me (UK) and my partner (US) are planning to file the petition for a K1 visa. I have been keeping an eye on processing times and whatnot but the information is different everywhere so I wanted to see if anyone with actual experience in it might have some info!

How long have you waited/been waiting? Any unexpected co vshare rona-based hiccups? If you are currently in the states and waiting on your green card - have you managed to get a work permit?

I am well aware of the process as a whole and, when we first discussed it, had 12 months in our head as the processing time, but this is likely completely off the mark.

We will be filing in Texas and our application is pretty cut and dry - nothing shady or inconsistent, provided we fill everything out correctly!

I-129F petitions are lower priority for USCIS because K-1 visas are lower priority for State.

All the best as you apply in Texas. The receipt will tell you where your petition is being processed. It's most likely California. Check USCIS processing time for K 1 visa. It shows 6-8 months. I applied on 8th Jan 2021, and it was approved by USCIS on 13th August.
