Can I come over on a K1 if I've never been on a B2?

I'm just curious about this. GF is US and I am from India. We ultimately plan to marry and get k1 - if I am not able to secure B2 for visiting her (she comes here as its a non-issue for US citizen to visit) will I at least be able to come to US on K1 visa if we are approved it?
