Must of meet within 2 years?

Hello;
I had seen my finance twice, & the last time was 4-2009. We had a visa process in motion, but some things happened to cause us to stop it then. As far as the requirements go, I know you have to have meet in the last two years. My question is do I have until 4-2011, ( two years after we meet), to file the petition, or does it have to be approved by 4-2011?

you should have met within 2 years when you are applying. I would not risk it until the last date.

Thanks for the reply. Well, now I'm laid off from work, so I believe I'll need steady job, before I can apply again, but if I have until April 2011 to apply, I think it will work out. If I had to be approved by then, then who knows?
