  • DS-260 questions

I'm the US Citizen spouse currently filling out the online ds-260 for my wife and had a couple questions.

    1. Should I list my wife's YouTube account name even though she only watches videos?

    2. For the permanent address. My mom is the only person who lives in the United States. Can I list her address in the Permanent Address section even though she lives in a one bedroom apartment?

    3. For Family in the children section. My son is already a US Citizen. The question asks "Is this child immigrating to the U.S. with you?" Should I answer "NO"?

    4. In Work/Education/training. It ask "In which occupation do you intend to work in the U.S.?" Are they picky with this question? I answered education because my wife is a certified Korean teacher.

    5. In Security and Background. It ask "Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccination in accordance with U.S. law?" I read different answers to this question. Is answering "No" with an explanation saying "DOCUMENTATION WILL BE PROVIDED AT MEDICAL EXAMINATION PERFORMED PRIOR TO IMMIGRANT VISA INTERVIEW." correct?

    6. While filing out DS-260. I noticed that it has an expiration date. The expiration date already passed. I paid for DS-260 last week. What should I do?

    Thanks!

The expiration date on the DS-260 form is likely related to the session expiration on the website rather than the validity of the information you provided. If you have already submitted the form and received a confirmation, it should be fine. However, if you have concerns, you may want to reach out to the U.S. Department of State's Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) or contacting the National Visa Center (NVC) for clarification.

Should I include her YouTube Vanced account? Can I use my mom’s one-bedroom apartment for the address? If my son is already a U.S. citizen, should I say "NO" to him immigrating? Is "education" okay for her occupation? Can I answer "No" about vaccination documentation and explain it will be given at the medical exam? What should I do about the DS-260 expiration date since I paid last week?

If your wife only watches videos and doesn’t produce content or engage in other activities on the platform, it's probably safe to skip listing the account. They’re more interested in social media accounts used for active engagement or content creation. And yes, you can list your mom’s address as the permanent address. The size of the apartment doesn’t matter for this purpose, as long as it’s a valid address where your wife can receive mail.

The DS-260 is a green card application for applicants from outside the United States. The National Visa Center (NVC) is a branch of the United States Department of State.

In this process, the NVC is charged with processing all permanent resident (green card) applications submitted by foreign-born individuals applying for immigration through their local US embassy or consulate.

A foreign-born citizen who intends to immigrate to the United States through family members must be sponsored by a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (green card holder).

USCIS will send a Notice of Receipt of Form I-130 to your sponsor in about two to three weeks.

This I-130 petition will be approved if USCIS can verify your relationship with your sponsor and your sponsor's citizenship status as a lawful resident.
Your sponsor will receive notice of the USCIS decision in approximately 12 to 13 months.
