Is Engagement must for K1 Visa

Hi,

I applied for K1 visa on 2nd Dec 2010. I got the receipt on 08-Dec-2010.

But we did not get engaged. We met each other and took photos. I have send the proof of relationship

-photos together
-boarding pass
-hotel receipt
-passport stamp

Engaged means you both have committed to marry each other. If you don't intend to marry, then you don't have a fiance. A K1 visa is for a fiance, which you currently don't have.


Engaged does not require a ring and getting down on one knee.

after its approved you have 90 days to marry
