  • I-130 Interview (Spouse Overseas)

    Hello everyone,

I had interview today for my wife who is overseas. Interview went well but there was a problem. I was married in april 2002, with US citizen for 5 years and I got a green card in Aug,2005 (non conditional). I got divorced on 12th Jan, 2008. In interview she said "I have no doubt about your marriage but do you have any documents proving your pervious marriage was bonafide?"
what should i do ? I dont have any documents that old. She asked me about taxreturns, bank statment and lease. I ordered bank statements and transcripts but dont have any other papers. We didnt have any assets.
That time I had insurance and all but I never saved those thinking I will never need them. I dont have pictures. I had submitted bank statements, tax papers, insurance , lease that time. She asked me if I wann submit anymore docs for previous marriage and I said "No cause I already submitted all when I got my green card, you can get it from that file". Officer told me that she will request for my file and take a look at those documents and send me desicion. PLEASE GIVE ME INPUT ON THIS.

( I had filed since 2009, not on the form or in interview letter was mentioned to bring anything from previous marriage. I had sent a address change, it was in file but address wasnt changed, they sent interview letter to old address. USCIS gave me greencard after checking all the docs back in 2005 and now they are questioning their own decision. The way they work is very stupid. )

( If some old guy goes to russia and brings very young bride who just wann get in US and be legal, they dont harrase them cause he is " ". But someone with real marriage and just cause he is naturalized citizen they wann discrminate. )

    Thanks a lot.

oh wow. why should it matter, youre divorced. see if there is some sort of waiver, seems like when i was filling out papers there was some sort of something that says if you dont have or you cant get certain papers you can file ???.. i dont remember... maybe it was a signed affidavit. notorized, saying you couldnt get what they are asking for? my husband is 16 years younger than me and they are denying him right now we had to submit more proof of relationship, its been 9 months since i first started this mess and now we are having to wait even longer for administrative processing. what to do? try and put trust and sincerity on paper to strangers.. 1 year now we have been apart. good luck to you.

        Lost Green Card

I am Green Card holder, married to a US Citizen. I have lost my conditional green card in New York six months ago. I did file for I-90 replacement card. on 12/02/10 I was photographed and fingerprinted. I want to travel to Bangladesh without a green card for emergency within two weeks. My stay at Bangladesh will be one month. What is the process of coming back to the US without a green card. What do I need to do and take with me to the Bangladesh American Embassy? P

            call

call immigration/visa center and talk to them, you would get the best answer there. maybe they can forward the info and issue it b4 you leave? lol, as slow as they are, probably a dream. good luck
