Can I apply K1 visa without birth certificate?

Hello,
I had lost my birth certificate during flooding bad at my village. I'm from Myanmar and my petitioner is from US. I requested Ministry of Health department to get my birth certificate copy but they just gave birth certificate recommended letter
Is it ok to apply K1 visa without birth certificate?
