I29F Fiance Visa Criminal Record Question

Hello all, I have a question regarding Part C on the I29F application. The question regarding criminal records. I had did have an arrest and conviction 1time in the mid 70's for a controlled substance. The question ask if you had 3 or more arrests so I answered the question no. Can anyone tell me what might happen when they do the background check and find this arrest? Will they ask for any documentation and if they do what kind of documentation.

The purpose of that section is for the protection of the foreign fiance so she doesn't unknowingly end up in the home of a violent man, sex offender, or drug addict. If one drug bust required more documentation up front, then they wouldn't say report 3 or more. My guess is you will be fine, but I have no personal experience with arrests.

On the flip side, one drug arrest by the foreigner would be looked at more strongly and could be reason for denial of entry into the US.
