  • Worried...please help (K-1)

    Hi guys new to the forum!! I'm in England an my fiancé is in the states. We nearly completed the I-195f packet an we think it will be sent in over the next week or so. Problem.... Every site I look on gives me a different time period for how ling this actually takes from start to finish!! We've actually booked a small wedding for nov 8th as that's my birthday. It's no problem to change the date for that but obviously my parents want to book flights.... Any ideas for English people how long I'm looking at?? Or how far into the process I'll get an idea of completion dates so they can book flights???

    Thank you soooo much

    There's no accurate prediction because there are too many variables along the way. You have to wait on the USCIS, the NVC, and the Embassy in London to do their part and move the application along to the next stage. Also if you leave anything out, they may have to request more evidence from you, which can slow it down. The London part requires gathering documents and getting a medical before they will schedule your interview. So there's also your time to be prepared to factor in. You don't even know the correct form number right now (I-129F), so you're going to have to get up to speed on the process to get yours done without delays.

    So here's some dates of real people I know from the UK. Keep in mind it seems to be taking longer right now for those starting a month or two later. That can get even slower or the service centers might catch up and it'll go faster. No way to give you an exact answer.

    Applied-------Interview date (+ 7-10 more days to get visa)

    6/23/10------3/4/11
    7/05/10------3/10/11
    9/01/10------3/14/11
    8/21/10------3/15/11
    8/12/10------3/18/11
    7/13/10------3/24/11
    6/02/10-------4/1/11
    7/15/10------waiting for interview appointment
    8/07/10------waiting for interview appointment

      @Nichole

      Thanks so much Hun. I've looked at those dates you gave me. We've decided tonight, along with my parents, to move the date to jan 2012. I have an extra couple of months to play with then, should we need to.
      I just feel this whole procedure is heartbreaking and stressful... You have obviously been through it yourself. But what doesn't break us makes is stronger eh?!

      Thanks hunny

        It's best not to plan for November, then get totally devastated when it's getting close and there's nothing you can do to know when you're going to get approved by USCIS or when London will get the case and inform you to submit your visa applications. It's truly best not to plan anything you can't change because it's very unpredictable.
