  • K-1 visa approved...I need advice

Good day, Everyone! Last April 20, 2011 we received email from USCIS informing us that they approved our fiance visa application and were super happy about it. Im 9 months pregnant and about to give birth next month and my fiance is also arriving this coming may to be with us. My question is how can we bring the baby in the US with me? Do we need to apply for his citizenship/passport here at the US embassy manila? We're planning to go to the US with my fiance when he go back home in June. Do I need to call the embassy for the schedule of interview and medical? What's the best thing to do? I really want to be with my fiance and marry him asap. Please help us and please give us the best advice. Thank you everyone and More power to this page

If your fiance is the USC and the father of this child then the child is automatically a USC. Not sure what you have to do but I am sure someone will chime in here and help you. As far as I know you contact embassy and they file a US passport for the baby. Once you get your medical done I am sure it is you who contact the embassy for interview. If you are approved at interview then you can fly back with your fiance once you get visa in hand and marry here. You may need t look at the Manila forum for more help here from people who know your country. Good luck with the baby though.

I remember this question was answered for you months ago.

You register the child's birth at the consulate and apply for a form FS-240 and a passport for the child. The baby doesn't need a visa because he/she gets an American passport. It's more complicated when the parents aren't married.

It's called Consular Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America
