hi, i would like to petition my wife next month but there are things i would like to know before i do it.

1. I just filed chapter 7 bankruptcy. is there an effect to the petition?
2. I just got a job a month ago. is there an effect?
3. Is it true that i can include my brothers and sisters in filing affidavit of support?

You can file a CR1 spousal visa for your wife and as long as you have a job and can financially support her as primary sponsor and show Tax returns for last year and pay stubs and employment letter then yes. If you are not meeting the poverty guidelines right now yes you can have family as co sponsors to meet the guidelines.

thanks for your response... is it easy to petition? do i have to hire a lawyer? it is my first time and i would like her to be here as much as possible... how long it will take to petition a spouse? thanks

You don't need a lawyer if your case is straight forward but as long as you are working now and they only want to see your income with the I-864 affadavit of support. The petition takes same as K1 roughly 5-9 months.

1. i just got my job last month and its a per diem. for now, im working full hours because im still in training and after that i'll be working every weekends and will just call me in weekdays if they need me. my rate is $13/hr. do i have to include my co-sponsors in my application?

2. can i address it to my brother? like "care of" because i would like to make sure that the letter will deliver...
